  1. 10th Noember 1938
    Warren Edward Roland Jackson was the landlord of Gardeen, Lisheenowen, Knockpogue and Knockavilling. He never resided in the immediate district but he lived in Middleton.
    The Jacksons were landlords for generations and of course established their right of title by the sword. The original Jackson accompanied Cromwell on his invasion of Ireland. They were not considered bad landlords but they seldom or never visited this part of their estate. They left the management to their agents, the last of whom was Edward Barry Broadley. He was a bad man and gave the tenants little time to pay up, whether times were good or bad. He carried out two evictions in this district. William
