Maire Ni Ceallaig, Lios Maoir - There was once a castle in Mrs William OConnor's lands in Curraghs.
There lived in this castle three chiefs named Mc Carthy. They were very rich and owned a lot of gold silver and jewellery.
There was a big battle going on down near Charleville. The three chiefs went there. Before they left they gathered all their gold silver and jewellery and put them into a lead box. They took it down to the river Allow and buried it in a ford there.(continues on next page)- Collector
