  1. In the vicinity of the school
there is a mountain called Boc-
    Cartaigh. Cartaigh was supposed
to be a native of Kerry. He left Kerry
and came to the Bocartaigh, where
he built a hut. He left the Bocartaigh
and went to Lismore where he died
    For years after he
came crying along the glens towards
the Bocartaigh where he would sit
and rest. He would exclaim in
his crying "Do mhairbheas mo leanb."
    a number of men
    from Taur went one evening
to meet him, to ask him his
    trouble. When he arrived their
    courage failed and any body
did not speak to him. He passed
by and said "Dia le m'anam." He
    continued his journey to Kerry
    where he disappeared.
