  1. The spades that were made long ago were made
    by the smith. The smith would put a
    piece of iron into the fire and shape it
    to any form he would wish.
    Then he would join another piece of
    iron to the piece he would put into the
    fire and form the salmon. Then the
    socket was formed to which the handle
    and treader are joined.
