Turf Cutting (No:8)

When the people are cutting turf the first thing they do is to go to the bog. They take a spade and hay-knife with them to strip the green sod off the top. Then they let it under the heat of the sun for a while.
Then a Meitheall go to the bog to cut the turf. When it is cut they spred it along the ground to dry. After a while they come to foot it. After a while they second foot it. Then they let it there until they draw it home.
