    A lovely, lively, fair one,
    Few can her equal, none surpass,
    In this our generation.

    Her golden tresses, eyes of blue,
    Her manner mild, endearing,
    Have charmed many a brave man true
    Whose heart is for her yearning.
    (3)
    The golden age of Ireland past,
    Saw many a belle of beauty,
    But none so brave, more free from faults
    Or skilled in every duty,
    (4)
    Than this true earthly angel bright,
    So high-souled, shining, glorious,
    Most faithful to her native land,
    When heaped are vile wrongs odious
