  1. The old people of this locality have many sayings about the weather. They know when the fine weather is coming, and they know when the rain is coming. The old people say when there is a dirty red in the sky at night that is a sign that the following day will be a "pet" day. There is an old saying which is very true.
    "The morning grey and the evening red,"
    "Will pour down sun on the traveller's head,"
    "The evening grey and the morning red,"
    "Will pour down rain on the traveller's head."
    The old people also say that it the cat comes near the fire and turns his bottom to the fire we will have the snow. When the water of the river turns bright and the fish can be seen at the bottom of the river in the holes that is a sign that the rain is near.
