- About a mile from Blarney is situated “St. Ann’s Hill Hydro. Near the Hydro is a castle of which we know very little.In the eighteenth century a community of nuns lived in the castle. The Revd. Mother’s name was Ann, and the place is called St. Ann’s in her honour. Seemingly she must have been canonized.In a wood close by there was a well called “St Ann’s well” which is now covered.
