The forges were always great centres of story telling. When people meet each other at the forge they tell stories while they are waiting for there horses to be shod and sometimes they come there by night. - There are three forges in this parish. The smiths are, Denis Mullane, Stuake, William Scully, Lackabawn, and Paddy Dineen, Fornaught.Their people have been smiths for many years. The forges are situated near the villages of Stuake, Donoughmore Cross and Firmount.
