  1. It was Horgan that got the first motor-car in Clondrohid. The people used to carry the dead in a donkey and car or in a horse and car while the people now have a hearse. The people used used wear flannel jackets and the used to eat potatoes and butter-milk. When the beggars used to come begging to the people they would give them some potatoes or a copper or an egg. When they would get the thing they would say "tis many the angry dog and the hungry housekeeper I met since I was with you before
    They used to light the fire with splinters and boxwood and they used to light it with spark made from brown paper and saltpetre.
