  1. There was a woman near Coppenjer's gate. She took a boy with her every night down to the river. After a short time a boy came to the priest and told him about it. The priest came to the place with the boy. The priest told the boy when he would see her to tell him. He was not long waiting when she appeared and the boy told the priest. The priest came to her and said What dammed you. She said I killed a child. The priest said that did not damn you. She said I killed two children. The priest said that did not damn you. Then she said I killed it on my hire. Well said the priest that dammed you. Then the priest started reading and put her down into the river in a very deep hole under Macroom bridge. The people were swimming in that hole before, but the priest told them not to swim there again.
