    May Night Piseóga.
    1.
    No cows to be left out May night lest some neighbour milk them & take the butter for the year.

    Cows to be driven through all the open gaps in farm

    Butter made May Night kept for the year was supposed to be a cure for all ailments.

    Water brought may morning from where 3 different steams meet. Cure
    St John's night to jump the fire - To let the smoke cover the land
    Christmas candle
    A bit of the Xmas candle kept. supposed to cure earache.
    Christmas night. 3 suppers in honour of Blessed Trinity
    "Christmas night we'll ate the big bite
    Christmas Day w'll drink all the tay
    Lá 'le Stiopáin we'll ate the Criothán.
    St Stephen's Day.
    Boys go round with a bush of holly, decorated with ribbons & sometimes a poor wren. Collect money to bury the
