The old custom of marriage in this district was not to get married during lent, and it is unlucky to get married on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. People say that it is unlucky to have two out of the same house to get married in the same year. On the day of the wedding a lot of people are asked to the wedding, and they always have a great feast, because it is always done the day of the wedding, the Bridegroom and best man cut the wedding cake over the Bride's head, and, when they have it cut they hand it around to the people in plates.- Bailitheoir
