The people of the district used to go from well to well and spend a great part of the day in prayer, but those wells are closed in now by overgrown furze.
One of those wells can be found yet but the other cannot.

1.
There is a holy well in my District. It is situated in a field long side of a wood in Mr Sheenan's land. There is a palm tree growing over it. It is a very deep well with a big lot of steps going down into it. It is said that long ago a lot of people with diseases would come from all parts of the district to visit the holy well.
