    The last of the family was George Travers or Seóirse Buidhe. The house in Lissycremin was haunted and he saw the fairies one night and he died the morning after. The people were working for sixpence aday and the day there was a station in the locality that day was left off. For their breakfast they had potatoes and coffee without milk.

  2. In Mrs. Keohane's land at Lislevane is a mound, which resembles a fort, though it is not fortified. Fifty years ago it was used as a burial-place for still-born babies and for children who died before being baptised. It is left untouched and untilled as it is a superstitious belief that it is not right to meddle with a place where anyone is buried. The custom of burying children in Killeen was discontinued and now they are all buried in the graveyards.

    There is a fort in Grange. It belongs to the Hayes family. It is supposed to be the second largest in Ireland. About ten years ago it was tilled and levelled to the ground nearly. It grows very good crops every year. About six years
