    Christmas
    It is an old custom to decorate the house with holly and ivy and mistletoe at Christmas. This was made a custom first because they are the nicest shrubs to be seen at that time of the year and there are nice berries on them.
    May Day
    The people bring in sycamore on the first day of May because the leaves are on it and before any other tree and they bring in black thorn blossoms on the eve of May day.
