  1. A long time ago a fishing boat left the Red Strand to shoot their spillers some ten miles to sea. When they left the strand the sea was very calm but suddenly the wind began to blew from the north and the sea got very rough and the men got much afraid. Now there was an old man in the boat who asked to say the rosary. When the rosary was said a white bird pitched on the gunwale of the boat and they rowed to land safely
