  1. Treasures in Hiding
It is said that there is a pot of gold in hiding under a white thorn tree near my house in Muckross. It was put there long ago by the fairies. The tree that it is under is called the gold tree. There is a big flat slate under the tree and no one ever touched it because they would be afraid nor even cut the branches of the tree. It is in the side of the road leading to Clonakilty.
