  1. When anyone would visit the house when the people were churning they should put their hand in the churn barrel, as it was said they would carry the butter.
    If a looking-glass was broken in the house, it was supposed to bring seven years bad luck. If anyone would carry anything to a wakehouse the same person should carry it back again.
    A person should never go alone to a wake. If a person met one magpie when travelling on a journey it was supposed to bring bad luck.
    If sparks flew out from the fire on a person it is a sign that they would get money. If a person was going on a journey they should never be called back.
