65 years ago Fr. Collins was P.P. in Kilbrittain.

65 years ago Fr. Collins was C.C. in Kilbrittain. Colonel Barnett lived in Coolmain. Had three men named Bill Peters, Bill Hallinan and Bill Forde watching priest who was very fond of hunting. Overtook him at Causeway leading to Harbour View and tried to drown him. In the struggle priest held onto wall and resisted attack.
Seen and saved by Dick Peters brother of Bill
It was said the priest cursed the three men.
Dick Peters obtained pardon for his brother.
Hallinan was drowned within a week
Forde got blast(?) and in the words of the man who repeated this for me withered away.
