John Hunt who died 3 years ago aged 76 years was in is young days working at the other side of the water for a farmer. One night he took a pannier of turnips on his back out to cattle in a field near the present Convent in Timoleague. He dropped the pannier inside the fence and went to a neighbour's house for seed potatoes. When coming home late he called for the pannier and as he was crossing the fence the funeral passed along - coffins on shoulders and a crowd walking behind it. When John got his senses he found himself not on the road leading to the Convent but on the strand road to Timoleague. - Informant
