  1. Mágun was a giant that lived on Carn Hill long ago. It is about a half mile from this school. One day he sat on the top of the hill and washed one leg in the Bandon River and washed the other Airgideen River. It is said that Mágun buried a pot of gold between Ballinard and Carn Hill and he said that a man in the Parish of Enniskeane would find it. Some people searched for it but failed to find it.
