Ag fiadhach go tréun 's mo coin lem thaoibh
I espied a damsel with handsome features
And she dressed most neatly in her mantle green
(II)Bhí scáil 'na leacain ar dath an róisí
'S ba bhinne a ghór ná na ceólta sidhe
Her love and friendship piereced through my nature,
And I wished her daily to live with me.
(III)Do ritheas na coinnibh lem' chlaidheamh am dhóid dheas,
'S d'fhiosras do'n óig-bhean teacht liom mar mnaoi,
