  1. The Wren Song

Mr B is a worthy man.

    The Wren Song
    i
Mr B...... is a worthy man
And to his house I brought the wren
I brought the wren to visit him here
To wish him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
    ii
The wren, the wren, the king of all birds
St. Stephens' Day was caught in the furze
Though he is little his family is great
Put you hand in your pocket and give us a treat.
    iii
The wren, the wren, as you may see
Is guarded by a holly tree.
A bunch of ribbons by his side
And these two wren boys to be his guide.
    iv
Shake, shake, shake in the box,
    All silver and no brass
If you fill it of the best
We hope in heaven your soul may rest.
