- The following are the cures given by the old people of this district for common ailments:-
SORE THROAT - put the vamp of a stocking you have worn during the day around the sore part.
HEADACHE - two spoons of salts dissolved in boiling water and drunk
WARTS - Rub washing-soda for three days and bandage it and at the end of that time the wart will have disappeared.
COMMON COLDS - drink hot milk to which a good amount of pepper has been added. Pepper is also good for an aching tooth.
TO PURIFY THE BLOOD - Gather wild sage and boil it. Drink the water in which it was boiled.(continues on next page)- Collector
