  1. One of the most historical spots in this district is Kilbarry, a townland which extends almost to the town of Dunmanway.
It is historical because of its connection with Saint Finnbar from whom it gets its name. There is a graveyard in Kilbarry, and the ruins of a very old church, said to have been used by St Finnbar.
Below the ruins in a marshy place is a Holy Well where local people make "Rounds" every year on the 24th and 25th of September Many cures are reported, and each person who is cured leaves a bit of rag or a medal or some small belonging, on a bush near the Holy Well.
