  1. Our local landlord was Henry Newman. He was looked upon as one of the worst of the landlords. He used to put the poor people out of their homes if they did not pay the rent.
    The evicted people used go around travelling seeking for food and shelter.
    The landlord divided the land and if the tenants did not pay their rents he would evict them.
