    Bark, seeds, hides and wool, gold and silver ore.

    Our jolly crew in perfect health and our good ship tight and sound

    Our hearts were light and cheerful and our spirits they were high,
    Until we reached the Irish coast where the waves nigh reached the sky
    The wind it blew a hurricane regardless of our might,
    And it drove us on the Barrel Rocks on a dreary Winter's night.

    The very first shock our good ship got, for mercy we did call,
    Our noble barque did shiver and into the deep went all
    A violent surf upon the rock my own poor body did throw.
    Whilst all my brave companions lay in low.
    At ten o' clock next morning a boat I did
