    also found. They it to be a handle for some old stone weapon There is another Fort called Fortview. There is a wood near it. It is about two miles from Ballydehob.

  2. There is one fort in Gurteenroe, and it is said that fairies used to lived in it long ago. It is said also that when a priest was going to mass one morning on horse, and when he was crossing a river near the fort he fell in, and was drowned. Some say there is a hole from the river into the fort.
