  1. "Travelling people" very often travel about this district looking for alms, and some of them ask for lodgings. Some of them go about selling articles, such as cans, studs, and laces. They are seen in great bands at a fair or at sports or races. On those days they gather a great deal of money with the games they have.

  2. "Travelling people" still call to my home selling small articles, and people buy some from them.
    Some of them are not very poor; they get food and lodging from houses in their travels.
    Sometimes a certain travelling man comes onces or twice a year and stays one or two nights in the house. The people of the house give him some alms when he is going away.
    Long ago most of them used to travel on foot, and they used
