  1. The Swantons were the landlord of Ballydehob. We do not know how long they have been in this place, but we know they are here a couple of hundred years at least, They were middling good landlords. They had only seven farms, and the rest of the place is a town. I did not hear that they threw anyone out of their places. It was the tenants who put up the town of Ballydehob. It is not known how these landlords got possession of divided into farms.
