  1. The Island of Cape Clear

Proud England boasts of her cities long
    And her famous sea-port towns
The French-Man thinks, that Paris is
Admired by the world all round
But its off the coast of Ireland
There's a spot, to me most dear
I love it too, with all my heart
Its the Island of Cape Clear

    (2)
    In bygone days
    It was fine to gaze
    All out upon the sea
    When all those ship comerce
    Were not propelled by steam
The Summer's sun is sinking now
    Not a ripple do appear
    And ships from every nation
    Lay all around Cape Clear
The Chinese junk and the Turkish craft
And the Austrian too are there
A yankee ship with her colours flying
    For a pilate do appear
She is standing in with her mainsail clued
For a pilate from Cape Clear
