  1. Long ago the people hadn't any cups only timber ones. There was a man called "The Turner" living in Dreenane who made them for all the district around. He made vessels that would hold two quarts, with one handle in it. They were called "Piggins" and they were used for drawing water and milking. He made timber cups, saucers, plates and jugs, and everyone's dresser at that time was full of timber vessels. These vessels were called "Mórnáns". They were very hard to keep clean. There isn't any of those to be seen now.
