  1. The name of my townland is Gunpoint. It is so called because in Mr Hull's time, when he was owner of all this district, he mounted two great guns at the eastern point and it is called Gunpoint since.
In it there are six families. Two Donovan families, two Callaghan families, one Sullivan family and one Murphy family. In each house there is an old person only in the Sullivans. All the old people can speak a little Irish and can tell good English stories. The oldest person there is Jeremiah Donovan who is aged ninety seven years.
The next oldest is Mrs Callaghan who is his sister and is aged ninety six years.
The next oldest is Mrs John Donovan who is aged eighty one years.
The next oldest is John Murphy who is seventy eight years.
The last person is Jerry Callaghan who is aged seventy one years.
