    poured down from the top and the stick was twisted grinding it into flour called "Ríbuan".
    Another form of bread called "Stampai" was made from potatoes. They were first washed and peeled. Then they were grated with a grater - a piece of tin nailed on timber. It was then squeezed until it was perfectly dry and worked into cakes.

  2. Candle-Making:-
    This was a very common industry in Drishane and in all lands bordering the shore as it was customary to get large pieces of wax and tallow wrecked on the strands. This was melted and placed in a mould made of tin. It was then cooled in water and again placed in the mould to re-shape it.
