    The sea is dull in colour and rough. Foam on the rocks is a sign of broken weather.
    The wind howls in the chimney, and the soot falls. The windows rattle.
    A gray hoar brings rain before night.
    A pet day brings rain
    It is a bad sign to see cattle gadding too early in summer.
    I heard these things from my parents and neighbours.
