    asked him his name. "Begor I knew yer father well when he used be sellin' the top-loadeens of turf to Mrs. Driscoll. "
    The youth got very vexed to the old man for saying such a rude thing to his dead father.
    "Ye blágárd" said he, "don't be coddin' me father or ye'll get a black eye, he was never selling top-loadeens of turf."
    This was told to me by my father. My own name is Pat Joe Barry, Ballybawn, Ballydehob, County Cork.
    October 29th 1937.
