    left him in his gore
When cruel and wicked evidence against me did appear
The jury did not hesitate to brand me with the crime
The judge in passing sentence to me made this reply
On the eleventh day of January Tim Cadogan you shall die
From the court house dock I was sent back to a shameful gallows tree,
Where I must end my youthful days in pain and agony
May God forgive my enemies who brought me here to die,
Their conscience will accuse them as long as they are alive.
In health I was at home for many a Christmas night.
