  1. The superstition about seeing magpies is as follows: -
    One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a wedding.
    Four for a death.
    Five for silver.
    Six for gold.
    Seven for a story that was never told.
    A magpie flying to the right signifies luck, and flying to the left is ill-luck.
    Cut your nails on Monday cut them for health.
    Cut them on Tuesday you cut them for wealth.
    Cut them on Wednesday cut them for a letter.
    Cut them on Thursday cut them for something better.
    Cut them on Friday cut them for a wife.
    Cut them on Saturday cut them for a long life.
    Cut them on Sunday cut them for evil all the week.
    There is an ancient saying which says, bad Monday bad week, bad Friday bad Sunday.
    See a pin and let it lay bad luck you'll have all the day
    See a pin and pick it up all the day you'll have good luck. If a horse-shoe is found and thrown overhead it denotes good luck, but if not thrown overhead it denotes bad luck. When a person hears the cuckoo for the first time saying "cu-cu" in the right ear it signifies good
