  1. Some years ago there was an old woman went to evening Devotions in the Catholic church in Skibbereen. She went into the Confessional and after some time she fell asleep there and the doors were locked up for the night. When she woke up she found herself locked in and she sat down.
    About twelve o'clock candles were lit on the Altar and a priest came out and asked was there anyone to answer Mass but there was no answer and he went back again. Next day when the doors were opened the woman went out of the church and she told a man named Paddy Mac Carthy who was then Sexton in the church. This man told Father Troy who was then administrator in the parish and he and Paddy Mac Carthy watched the next night and
