  1. Long ago there was a man coming home from a bog with a horse and cart, and when he was about a half a mile from his house something in the shape of a woman jumped in the back of the car. He gave her a couple of slaps of the whip to drive her out but she would not move. She used hit him back and every slap he got from her used cut him.
    When he came to the gate of his house the woman vanished. A few nights after this man's wife died and so he thought afterwards that the woman he saw that night was his wife.
