    Sadly am I by the side of a mountain

    Hollyhill.
    Sadly am I by the side of a mountain.
    The lights of old Bantry are far far away.
    Church bells are chiming the small hours of morning
    And the search lights are looking for spies on the bay.
    Chorus.
    Sandy and Jack they rolled home together
    A nice Christmas motto hung up on the wall.
    "Look up" says Jack Murphy to his friend Alexander
    "And read for yourself happy welcomes to all."

    I fancy. I see the home Christmas candles
    And hear the greetings of mother to welcome me back
    I fancy, I see the home Christmas candles
    lighting the way of the wanderer Jack.

    Cursed Hollyhill, I know you're enchanted
    The moon in its beams refuses to shine.
    Where are the stars, are they all immigrated
