  1. The old people were very religious and had many beautiful prayers. which they composed themselves, also some beautiful aspirations. The following are a few of the prayers: -
    I. Holy Saint Joseph, Holy Saint Ann,
Send (so and so) a husband
    As soon as you can.
II.In this bed I lie to sleep.
To God I give my soul to keep.
But if I die before I wake.
To God I give my soul to take.
There are four Angels round my head.
One to guard me, One to guide me
And two to carry my soul to Heaven.
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
There comes the Jew with his big long spike.
And stabs our Saviour through the side.
And those, who say this prayer morning and night.
Will never see the gates of Hell.
