    Canon Sheehan lived there. The castle contained fifty rooms and seventy windows, There was a Chapel attached to the castle. One of the Canon's sisters was burned alive in it. There was a dungeon in Droumadooneen and there were people hanged there. Every morning there was fresh blood on the floor. It was about one hundred years ago.
    There was a Church in Droumacoppil. When the French were coming into Bantry Bay, the priest said Mass and all the French people were drownned (were) because a great storm arose.
