  2. Local Monuments.
    There are many standing stones in the parish. There are eleven standing stones in the summit of Mr. Dennis Cronin's hill of Cappanabowl overlooking Drownaneise Lake. Ten stones are in a circle and one large stone is in the centre. The average height of the stones is about three feet
    There are certain engravings or carvings in the stone in the centre.
    A cross and certain lines are marked on it. It is generally supposed that these stones were adored by the Pagans before the Christian era. There is
