Long ago people had prayers called "Sgeal Luacrach".

Long ago people had prayers called "Sgeal Luacrach". They had special prayers for special requests.
One was "Sgéal Luachreach na Maighdine Muire".
The following is a "Sgéal Luachrach" in English used in the Scart district near Bantry. It was said when someone wanted to cure a toothache.
Johnny McCarthy who was known as "Johnny Spinner" was the "Fóisín" teacher there.
    The Sgéal Luachrach
"As St Peter was sitting on a marble stone outside the gates of Jerusalem Jesus passed by "What ails thee Peter? he asked "Oh Lord I am troubled with the toothache"
"Arise Peter and behold: He who shall carry these words either written and by heart shall never be troubled with the toothache."
