  1. There were stories told about the Mass in the district. It used to be said on the hills, and plains for fear anyone would kill those present. People never ceased from going to Mass long ago. Long ago the people used to put a stone in the box for each Mass heard and they would only find one stone in the box at last. It was said that they only heard one Mass right.
    We don't know of any story about a person asking the priest a question in Mass. It is said that St. Kieran flung a bell into Shannon and it is heard ringing every seven years. There are stories told about religious people who lived in the district in former times. There lived a man in this district long ago, and he used to go to Mass every day, and he saw that the other people used to go to Mass only on a Sunday, and he said to them that the people that did not go
