  1. Once upon a time there was a giant living in a castle and he used to have a candle lighting, and whosoever would look at that candle would be dead before sunrise the next morning. A boy named Regan made up his mind to kill the giant and he went to the castle with a spear.
    He covered his eyes so that he would not look at the candle, and he climbed the rock and he gropped for the candle. When he left hands on it he threw it down into the lake near by, and the name of the lake was the Shannon. Then the giant came rushing towards him, but Regan struck him with the spear on the hand, but alas! the spear broke in two.
    The giant tore up a piece of rock and through it at the boy, and he took up a stone and he hit the giant on the foread and the giant fell dead. The boy lived about a hundred years ago. They fought against one another. There are stories told about giants who flung
