  1. There are various signs of the weather. For instance we get signs from the insects the animals the birds and natural features. If the sun goes down red in the evening the next day will be fine. But sometimes it doesn't. And if there a ring around the moon the next day will be wet.
Stars falling is the sign of frost and if there are large clusters of them in the sky also. To see the clouds moving is the sign of wind. To see a rainbow in the morning is the sign of rain. And to see it in the evening is the sign of good weather. There is also an old saying about the weather which says " A rainbow in the morning is the shepperds warning. A rainbow in the evening is the shepperds delight".
When the wind is coming from the west it is a sign of rain and from the north is the sign of frost or cold weather. The animals turn their backs to the wind when there is a storm coming. The swallows fly very low when we are going to have rain. The seagulls fly inland before the coming of a storm. When the cat turns his back to the fire, it is a sure sign of rain. And when he scrapes the door it is a sign of wind. Another sign of rain is when the dog eats grass and vomits it out again. On my way home from school I pass by a big sand pit. There is large stones in it. When rain is coming these stones turn grey.
