  1. A Song

I am, a young married man that is tired of life.

I am, a young married man that is tired of life,
So many of years with a sickly dying wife,
She does nothing all day only sit down and cry,
Wishing to God O' That she might die.
A friend of my own came to see me one day,
And he told me my wife she was praying? away
He afterwards told that she would strong.
If I got a bottle from Doctor dear John.
O Doctor, O Doctor, O dear Doctor John,
Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong,
I am, afraid of my life to go in sile,
For my wife she'd stop drinking your cod liver oil.
I got her another just for to try.
The way that she drank it you would swear she was dry.
I got her another just for to try and you would see banishing that
You would swear she got cod liver oil on the brain,
Oo' Doctor, Oo' Doctor O' dear Doctor John.
Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong
I am afraid of my life to go down in the Sile.
